CJ Awarded IATL International Trial Lawyer of the Year Award

The International Academy of Trial Lawyers (IATL) on September 19, 2019 awarded the Hon. Chief Justice, Hon. Justice Bart M. Katureebe, and the IATL International Trial Lawyer of the Year Award.
Ms Elizabeth Onyango and Ms Linda Bore presented the award to him from the International Law Institute in his chambers at the Judiciary Headquarters in Kampala.
The Chief Justice joins the company of past award recipients such as former President of Ireland HE Mary Robinson, Tanzanian Chief Justice Hon. Justice Mohamed Chande Othman as well as former South African Deputy Chief Justice, Hon.Justice Dikgang Moseneke among others.
The Chief Justice thanked IATL for the award.
The Academy is a group of elite trial lawyers representing both sides of the Bar:prosecutors and defense lawyers in criminal cases, and plaintiffs' and defense counsel in civil litigation. While the majority of the Fellows come from the US, the Academy includes lawyers from more than 30 countries.
The fellowship is by invitation only, and trial lawyers are invited to become Fellows only after an extremely careful vetting process.
